4th of July on the Chesapeake
It is almost that time of year again. Time to celebrate America with a day filled with boating, fireworks, BBQs, red, white, and blue. Everyone has their different traditions for the 4th of July. Whether you go to the beach with your friends, or stay for the family BBQ; everyone’s night usually ends with fireworks. Set them off yourself or watch the coolest display near you. The color from the fireworks illuminate the sky and the seas, it’s something you don’t want to miss. If you haven’t experienced fireworks over water, we insist you head down to Annapolis to get a front row seat for the shows over the Bay. July 1st
Fireworks and Big Band Night
When: 7:00 pm – 10 pm
Where: Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, 213 N. Talbot Street, St. Michaels
Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy a night filled with music, dancing, and fireworks. Open to the public as well as additional specials for those who are members. A fun night for the whole family, and a great way to start the holiday weekend.
July 3rd
Fireworks
When: 9:30 pm
Where: Sherwood Forest off Severn River
The fireworks are held for the residents of the community of Sherwood Forest, but that won’t stop you from hopping on a charter and catching the display from the water. The beautiful colors will light up the sky.
July 4th
Annapolis 4th of July Parade
When: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Where: Starts at Amos Garrett and West Street. The parade will head down West Street, wrong way around Church Circle, down Main Street, left on Randall Street, and ends in front of the Market House.
Enjoy the amazing parade of marching bands, fire engines, cars and vans, service clubs and scouts. With a patriotic salute to the nation’s finest. The red, white, and blue filled parade will be memorable for everyone who goes.
United States Naval Academy Band Concert
When: 8:00 pm to dusk
Where: Susan Campbell Park – City Dock
Enjoy the light classics to the patriotic songs of the USNA Concert Band.
4th of July Fireworks
When: 9:15 pm
Where: Annapolis Harbor
Enjoy the amazing fireworks display, with elaborate bright colors filling the skies. Watch the show from many places surrounding the area; Northeast of the Severn River, City Dock, any of the street-end parks facing Spa Creek, or aboard a charter in the Annapolis Harbor.
